Legendary dancehall and roots reggae artist, Buju Banton has been known to write a mixture of party, sociopolitical and spiritual songs. In 1992, Buju had the #1 selling album in Jamaica, which eventually lead him to signing with Mercury Records. By 2010 he won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album. The year prior, in 2009, Buju was arrested for drug conspiracy and firearms charges in the United States, and is set for release by 2019. The charges didn’t convince the Grammy’s to pull away from him winning the award for album titled ‘Before The Dawn’.
His first studio album, title Stamina Daddy, was recorded in 1992, which was later repackaged under the ‘Quick’ album title in 1998 featuring 10 songs. Track title ‘Quick’ is the most popular song on the album and can be heard down below.
